Flip Diaper Review

A few weeks ago I finally caved and bought a stash of Flip Cloth Diapers with Stay-Dry insert for Ryleigh and a Flip Trainer with Organic Cotton insert for Sophie since she has occasional nighttime accidents.

Well folks I am IN LOVE!

We don’t cloth diaper away from home as we are usually out for a full day when leave and lets just be honest dirty diapers in a hot car is not my cup of tea! But if it weren’t for that wretched smell we would use them 100% of the time!

These are my favorite diapers that I have tried and I see us using them for the long haul. I dabbled in cloth diapering with Sophie

and it just didn’t work out, I never found a diaper that I loved and that was cost effective.

I will share with you what I like and dislike about both the Flip Diapers and the Flip Trainer.

Let’s start with the diapers.

What I like about Flip Diapers:

Easy to wash

Easy to change

No stuffing, just lay the insert in and GO!

Wipe it out and reuse = less laundry

Great fit

No leaks after 4 weeks of use

Great Quality

What I dislike about Flip Diapers:

I wish the insert were slightly wider ( I’m talking like half an inch to an inch wider)

Yep that’s it, that’s all I could honestly say that I would change about these diapers! They are really that good!

Now on to the Flip Trainer.

There NOTHING I would change about it! Sophie is almost 3 and has occasional accidents at night and naptime. But when she does its a TON!  The fit is wonderful with room to grow. They come clean really easily too!

Recipe- Mexican Chicken Casserole

So let me start this by saying one word…YUMMY!!

This is a filling pan of deliciousness! And you can change it up to make it your own.

Mexican Chicken Casserole

 Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded (I boil them in low sodium chicken broth, makes them super flavorful)
2 (10.5oz) cans 98% fat free cream of chicken soup
2 cups 0% plain Greek yogurt (I use Stoneyfield Farms)
1 packet reduced sodium taco seasoning mix
1 packet ranch dressing mix
1 (10oz) cans RoTel, drained
1 (10oz) cans RoTel, UNDRAINED
1 (15oz) can black beans, rinsed & drained
1 (15oz) can pinto beans, rinsed & drained
1 (11oz) can Mexicorn/Southwest corn, drained
18 corn tortillas
3 cups shredded cheese (I use a combo of cheddar and “Taco Cheese”)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine cream of chicken soup, Greek yogurt, and seasoning packets.
Stir in chicken and remaining ingredients, except the tortillas and cheese.
Lightly spray a 9×13 dish with cooking spray.
Layer 6 tortillas in the bottom of the dish. Pour half of the chicken mixture over top. Sprinkle with 1/3 of the cheese.
Repeat layers, starting with tortillas, then remaining chicken mixture and 1/3 of cheese. Top with remaining tortillas and sprinkle with last 1/3 of cheese.
Bake for 30 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted.  I bake it for an extra 5 minutes to let the cheese get a little brown around the edges
Optional: Top finished casserole with chopped tomato, shredded lettuce, avocado, and sliced olives.
You can also replace the corn tortillas with 2 cups of cooked rice. Or leave the tortillas out and eat it as a dip with tortilla chips

WHAT RYLEIGH’S DAYS & NIGHTS ARE LIKE…

Sleeping: here is Ryleigh’s typical day:
5- 5:30am nurse then back to sleep
7-7:15 wake up to nurse
7:45-8:15 playtime (staring at the ceiling fan and cooing til she falls asleep)
10:30 am wake up STARVING! Nurse back to sleep
1:30pm nurse then back to sleep
4:00pm nurse then playtime (tummy time/ swing/ bouncy seat)
5:45 quick nursing session the back to sleep
7:30 bath and quiet playtime
8:00 help put big kids to bed
8:30-10:30 cluster feeding
10:30 passed out til 5am

Eating: still nursing like a champ! We got her to take one bottle of freshly pumped Mama’s milk a few weeks ago but tried again this week and she flat out refused, we’ve gotta work on that in case of a date night or emergency. I’ve also been pumping if she takes an extra long nap, which averages out to about 3 times a week and I pump 2-3 ounces each time so now we’ve got a small emergency stash in the freezer.

Diapers: Daytime- Flip diapers Away from home and night time- disposables

Places She Went: Friends house for taco night, movie theater (she did great watching Mr. Peabody and Sherman), and for a pedicure with Mommy!

Other Random Stuff: I am loving getting so much sleep!!

WHAT RYLEIGH’S DAYS & NIGHTS ARE LIKE…

Sleeping: Ryleigh is sleeping for 4 hour stretches during the day and night, let’s just say we’ve hit the 6 week growth spurt!

Eating: 6 weeks growth spurt! This girl can’t get enough of Mama’s milk, in fact on occasion she’s even nursed til she spit up 😦 Overall she’s nursing wonderfully though!

Diapers: She’s in Size One Pampers Swaddlers. And we finally broke down and bought some fluffy cloth diapers!! So during the day at home we are officially using Flip Diapers. The are a one-size cover that can be reused by just wiping it out and a stay dry insert! Yay for using less disposables each day!

Places She Went: Her 1 month appt ( She weighs 9# 3oz and is 21 1/2 inches long! ) I also had my 6 week check up with my OB and everything has healed perfectly and we good to go!

Other Random Stuff: This little girl is perfect and we are beyond blessed!;>
